In 2003,Deejay clatiny has already started playing with turntable, laying his hands on music production in studio and finally went professionally in 2006 with his first love, Deejaying. He is young, full of life and his personality distinguishes him from other deejays. With a stint in Business Administration,DjClatiny's newest mixtape is featuring Terry G (volume 8)and he is also promoting KCee's new album,Takeover alongside with 5stars Records.
The Sound blast Entertainment Chairman, DjClatiny as he is fondly called by friends and fans, has a very infectious personality, well buiit physique, very humouous, with a unique style in turningtable that makes his musical deejay career one of a kind.
In this interview with ANDREA OKOYE, he spoke on his deejay career, promotion, music and his passion for his dear country, Nigeria.
  Educational background.
I have a stint in Acturial studies , in Business Administration depatment, from University of Lagos, will soon go back to round up my programme.I got my secondary education from Gaskiya college, Ijora in Lagos.
How did you delve into deejaying?
DjClatiny: I started as a CD seller and later went into music production because I love music a lot.I was formally trained by Dj K aka Basbo, my big boss, a musical producer and a seasoned deejay.I used to accompany him to shows , then i was training as a music producer initially and later Disco jockey caught my gribs and I fell in love with deejay and this is where it has brought me to.I really give the praises to Almighty God because I am the vessel,He uses to make people feel happy at shows.
  Any Regrets?
Djclatiny: No! I don't regret being a deejay, initially I had surmounted pressure from family, my father, been a disciplinarian, frowned at my chosen career, said I must get my degree first. I did actuarial Science course in Unilag  and later followed my first love, deejaying because i promised him I will definitely get my degree.I will soon go back to round up my programme. It was not easy at all, the road was a very tough one, sometimes when my father notice I went to the studio instead of school, he will scold n chase me out of the house. During those trying times, I slept with friends, never gave up my dreams.its so difficult, in that your family will have to accept and love what you are doing.I combined both school and working in the studio but was very difficult but determination saw me through.
Tell us about your works so far?
Djclatiny: my story later changed for good when I met the late Osondu Owendi crooner, MC loph.  May his gentle soul rest in the bossom of the lord Almighty. MC Loph was a very hardworking artiste, full of life , with a humane heart. The little but most memorable times we worked together , was something to reckon with.  He taught me patience and to keep a steady gaze on God. I truly miss MC Loph! (wiping awayHe was introduced to me by one Obi, a musical marketer in lagos. I became the deejay who promoted his single "Osondu Owendi remix"originally done by the renown highlife musician, Chief Osadebe. Late MC loph actually called me to work with him and that was how I promoted and marketed his hit song.He was very proud of me because I used my last breathe to see that Osondu Owendi was a success.I could remember vividly the first time he introduced his fiancee to me, he calls her"my little god". In the entertainment industry, we are seen as brothers because we believed in each other.I also promoted singles from upcoming artistes so as to encourage and keep their dreams alive. I have worked with Sideone(one by one), Malake(mini wana wana),Sheyman, one of the best mix and mastering Producer,an artist as well.I was not signed to 5stars Records,Kcee's music label but got to know him through SoSo,Kcee's manager, who is a close friend of mine.He introduced me to Kcee shortly after he break out from Kcpresh.I promoted Okpekete for him.                I have also worked with some A-list artistes like Mr Raw,Kcee(mixtape, volume 6), Zdon(volume 3 mixtape), ChuddyK(mixtape, volume 4),Harrysong(volume 5), Harmony(volume 7). I have also worked with a UK based company called Booshblingbang blogspot. Currently, I am working on Terry G's(volume 8) latest album and Stidman's mixtapes respectively.
Would you grade yourself as one of the A-list deejays in Nigeria?
DjClatiny:Oh yes! Everybody wants to get to the top. With God,all is possible, with His divine mercy,I shall get there! Its not an easy road in that you must be accepted by your fans and all that. I bless God,I am pushing forward.
Which Deejay do you look up to in the industry?
DjClatiny: I am not competing with anybody.I love all my colleaques and commend their creative talents, like I said its not easy. My favourite dj might not be a famous one but he got all it takes,(Laughing..I won't call his name).
     Any plans so far?
Djclatiny: Yes! I am dropping my first ever song with a popular Nigerian artiste next year. Keep your fingers crossed.
     Any achievemements so far?
