Gunmen Kill Four In Kuru Midnight Attack

Superintendent Felicia Anslem, the Plateau State Police Command spokesperson on Wednesday, announced that four persons were killed by unknown gunmen in Wat village, Kuru, in the Jos South Local Government Area of the state.

The command’s spokesperson, who made this known to newsmen in Jos, said the attack took place last night (Tuesday) when the villagers were already far asleep.

According to her, several other people were injured during the attack.

Anslem, who called on residents to stay calm, assured that the police had commenced investigation into the killings.

When contacted, the Media Officer of the Special Task Force in charge of security in Plateau, Capt. Ikedichi Iweha confirmed the incident.

He, however, refused to give further details on the midnight attack.

Meanwhile, two days ago, on 26 May, one passer-by was killed in an attack along Rayfield in this same local government area. Two others were rescued with about four persons still missing following the conflicts that accompanied the bomb blast that rocked the state capital at the weekend. The victims, who were in a Vento car with registration number XD 371 KWL were residents of Gude village in Akwanga Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
