Today, 2 May, 2014, is a happy day for Kedike singer, Chidinma Ekile as she adds another year. The Emi Ni Baller crooner who was born in Ketu, Lagos, is the last of her Imo State, South-East Nigeria born parents.
Before auditioning for the third season of the MTN sponsored Project Fame West Africa, where she emerged the winner, Chidinma was a staunch member of her church choir where she honed her skills.
Today, the singer-songwriter, recording artist, stage performer, and brand ambassador for MTN Nigeria is a star in her own right.
After releasing the music video for her Emi Ni Baller single, she became the first female musician to peak at number 1 on the MTV Base Official Naija Top 10 chart.
Chidinma, her self-titled debut studio album, was released through the music platform Spinlet. It was supported by the singles Jankoliko, Carry You Go, Kedike, which became a hit and gave her the name Miss Kedike, and Run Dia Mouth.
In 2012, Chidinma won the Best Female West African Act category at the 2012 Kora Awards in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
She has had her own scandal as a sex tape purportedly showing her having sex with a man became viral on the social media but she had come out to say she was not the one in the said tape.
