Nigeria lost out big time as three Ghanaian students who participated in the May/June 2013 West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE) have made a clean-sweep all the three awards for the best performing students.
They are Miss Ivy Ama Mannoh (1st Prize), Miss Rhoda Adu-Boafo (2nd Prize) and Master Mwinmaarong Lucio Dery (3rd Prize).
According to a statement signed by Abiodun Aduloju WAEC’s Head of Public Affairs Department at International Office, Accra, Ghana, the winners emerged from a total of 2,109,122 candidates that sat for the examination in Gambia, Ghana, Nigeria and Liberia.
“The Council honoured three candidates with the WAEC International Excellence Award for their outstanding performance in the May/June 2013 WASSCE.”
Miss Ivy Ama Mannoh also took home the Augustus Bandele Oyediran Award for the Best Candidate in West Africa in the May/June 2013 WASSCE.
