Ghanaian midfielder Michael Essien completes transfer to AC Milan

The 31-year-old who looked more like surplus to requirement at the West-London club has signed a one and half year deal with the Italian club.

Essien will be looking at earning a shirt in his country’s team for the 2014 world cup in Brazil.

The midfielder cited the greatness of the club and new coach Clarence Seedorf as reasons why he chose the club, when he said;

‘Milan are a great club’. ‘I’ve joined the Rossoneri after having spoken to Seedorf. I hope he becomes a great coach’.

He also thanked his former team and coach for allowing him go to Milan and promised to do his best for his new club. ‘I would like to thank the [Chelsea] president and team and also [manager Jose] Mourinho, who has allowed me to wear this red and black shirt. I will do my best for Milan’, he concluded.

He becomes Milan’s third signing of the January (winter) transfer after the arrival of Japanese playmaker Keisuke Honda from Russian club CSKA Moscow and French defender Adil Rami from Valencia.

Justin Bieber charged with assault, will be in court on Valentine’s day!

Justin Bieber has reportedly been charged with assault.
The 19-year-old singer called into the 52 Division police station in Toronto today January 30, 2014 to be formally charged with allegedly attacking a limousine driver last month.
According to TMZ.com, Justin and his entourage were allegedly involved in an altercation while leaving a Toronto Maple Leafs game on December 29, 2013, at the Air Canada Centre and police were forced to intervene.
This is the latest in a string of legal issues the ‘Beauty and A Beat‘ hitmaker faces after he was arrested last week in Miami for driving under the influence (DUI), driving with an expired license and resisting arrest.
The hunky star reportedly pleaded not guilty to the charges on Wednesday, January 29, 2014.
An arraignment date has been set for Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2014, but Justin is not required to attend.
However, the troubled star could also potentially face felony charges after an incident earlier this month where one of his neighbours’ homes was egged, causing $20,000 of damage.
Officers for the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s department said they will soon be submitting evidence to the District Attorney, who will then decide whether to press charges.

Meanwhile, Justin – who is from Ontario – could be deported back to Canada after over 100,000 people signed a petition to have him removed from the US.

KCEE opens up to NET on Nicki Minaj collabo

Circling through grapevine is news that KCEE reportedly paid a hefty sum of N68m  to have American hip-hop Queen, Nicki Minaj for a collaboration that will also feature his label mate Harrysong.
But KCEE’s manager, Soso Sobrekon, speaking to a NET reporter from the United States has cleared the air on the matter.
‘We are in the USA trying to get some collaboration done. It is true we are in the process of doing a song with Nicki Minaj, and that news was leaked by an agent to the media. We actually wanted it to be a surprise for the fans, but since it’s out there now; we plan on taking it bigger’.
Soso however refused to comment on what they allegedly paid for Minaj’s services. ‘We want to seal another artist from YMCMB that is bigger than Nicki Minaj.
She’s already sealed to be on the track, but now that everyone knows, we’re still going to surprise the fans by getting another person from YMCB.’
The manager also refused to disclose the title of the track, and says they will finish recording the song before returning to Nigeria.

El-Rufai bounces back, speaks on ordeal in SSS den Omokeshe Adeleye

All Progressives Congress (APC) Interim Deputy National Secretary, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, has given an insight into his ordeal in the hands of Nigeria’s secret police. The former Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, who surrendered to the State Security Service (SSS) yesterday after a three-day stand-off, was released around midnight after being held for more than 15 hours and left the SSS premises at in Asokoro, Abuja, at 12:35 a.m.
On how he found his interrogation, he tweeted about an hour ago: “great fun but boring.”
In another tweet, El-Rufai disclosed that he is on his way to Lagos but did not disclose his mission.
However, in keeping with his vow not to be silenced, he has resumed attacks on the ruling government, tweeting about the election timetable released two days ago by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC): “They have definite plans to rig the elections in Ekiti & Osun in 2014, & the entire nation in 2015. We will not be intimidated into silence!” In another tweet, he queried: “Why hold presidential election on Valentines day? Are they so desperate for apathy from youths?”…they intend to rig.”
El-Rufai had been invited last Thursday by SSS in connection with a newspaper interview in which he predicted bloody general elections next year but he insisted that he would not honour the invitation except the SSS obtained a court warrant. He thereafter disappeared from his Maitama home in the Nigerian capital and could not be traced by SSS operatives who stormed the place on Friday. El-Rufai was also not in his second Abuja house at Imani Estate when the SSS operatives went there to look for him.

Diamond Bank Md in Efcc trouble over Money Laundering as Staff is arrested for tipping off robbers

A staff of the Item Street branch of the Diamond Bank Plc, Owerri, Mr. Daniel Chibueze Meshach is presently cooling his heels in the detention cell of the Imo state Police command for allegedly masterminding an armed robbery operation in the state.
Daniel Meshach, 27, from Isingwu Ofeme-Ohuhu in Umuahia North council area of Abia state and two others were arrested by men of the Ambush Squad of the Imo state police command after a fierce confrontation with the Police as they tried to escape the scene of crime after successfully robbing their victim of cash and valuables at Umurim, Nekede, in Owerri West Council area of Imo state.
Lamenting his fate, the very eloquent banker confessed to the crime. He agreed he planned the operation and picked the victim of the robbery himself, apparently through privileged information. He blamed his involvement in armed robbery on peer pressure and pleaded to be given a second chance.
Also arrested and paraded alongside the banker was one Emmanuel Chisom, a student of the Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri, who confessed to supplying three firearms for the robbery operation.
Taking questions from newsmen, Chisom denied being the current leader of a dreaded campus cult group as alleged, noting that he was deposed last year, as leader of the Vikings confraternity, after what he termed a ‘mutiny’. It is widely believed that apparent cult involvement may have drawn the banker into crime.
Two locally made pistols were also recovered from them. However, the Imo state Police command has assured that the banker and his gang would soon be charged to court on completion of investigations into the matter.
However, recently, Marilyn-Joan Obiora, a senior staff of Diamond Bank, was prosecuted by the EFCC at the Federal High Court in Umuahia, Abia State. Obiora’s stunts were exposed in a petition by Stephen Inegbu, the bank’s zonal security supervisor in Port Harcourt. His petition was inspired by the bank’s inspection unit, which discovered that Obiora, abetted by four other staff of the bank, made fraudulent withdrawals totaling N125.6 million in three installments. Obiora and colleagues withdrew N26 million, N91.6 million and N8 million.
Like Obiora, the duo of Ebele Okoh and Charles Amadi, also of Diamond Bank, also faced allegations before the Karu Chief Magistrate’s Court, Abuja. Okoh and Amadi of the bank’s Zone 4 branch in Abuja were accused of withdrawing N250,000 from a customer’s account. Police prosecutor, Garba Mohammed, explained that Okoh and Amadi scanned the signatures of some customers, with the intention to use them for withdrawals. The suspects did not go far in their scheme before they ran out of luck. By then, they had withdrawn N250,000 from the account of one L. A. Mittee through one Amaechi Josiah, who is also being tried for alleged theft in the same court.
in a related development,Naijahottestgist findings reveal that the Md of Diamond bank is in a terrible mess as his name has been mentioned in multiple Money Laundering petitions to Efcc,on the efcc table isan huge allegation of money laundering against Alex who helped Nassarawa Governor launder huge billions o naira

Beyonce shared some great family moments with little Blue Ivy being an absolutely adorable tot.

Beyonce may not necessarily blow our mind with her overly sexual performance at the Grammy (or in that Michael Costello dress) or take home any awards at the Grammys but she sure has something to be excited and grateful about!
The sultry singer released pictures of Blue Ivy and we can't seem to get enough of Blue Ivy's pictures; at least not yet especially when they are shared by Queen Bey herself who is a rather private person but has loosened up in recent times
The adorable kid who is always excited was seen in the pictures just playing around and generally being a child.

2014 Pope describes when he learned to deprive himself

VATICAN CITY (AP) — Even at age 13, Pope Francis was concerned for the poor.

The Vatican newspaper L'Osservatore Romano on Wednesday published a letter Francis sent to a fellow priest in 1990 in which he recounted all the things he learned during the sixth grade year he spent studying at a Salesian school in his native Buenos Aires.

Jonathan “Never Accused” Former Service Chiefs Of Unnecessary Competition, Presidency Says

The presidency has dismissed as “untrue and misleading,” media reports which claimed that President Jonathan said in Yola on Tuesday that he “fired” former service chiefs because of “unhealthy competition” amongst them.

“It appears that for reasons of mischief and reckless sensationalism, a section of the media deliberately chose to misrepresent the President’s innocuous and clear call for greater synergy and inter-service cooperation in the war against terrorism,” presidential spokesman Reuben Abati said.

He said the President Jonathan at no time during his remarks in Yola say that the former chiefs were guilty of undue rivalry, nor did he say that such unhealthy rivalry was responsible for recent security breaches in Adamawa and other parts of the country.

“As Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces and Chief Security Officer of the Federation, President Jonathan is fully aware of the importance and sensitivity of all defence and security-related matters,” Abati declared.

“If he had any reprimand or admonition for the former service chiefs, which he does not, he would not have cavalierly given it at a public function as the media falsely reported.”

He said the President has nothing but praise for the manner in which the outgoing service chiefs did their job in very challenging circumstances and did not in Yola suggest or imply that any wrongdoing, lack of cooperation or unhealthy competition was responsible for the recent changes in the Military High Command.

“Members of the Armed Forces and all objective observers know that such changes are routine and in the interest of the growth and well-being of the Armed Services.

“President Jonathan has no need therefore to justify the recent changes to anyone and the recourse by the media to a totally off-the-mark interpretation of his remarks in Yola to explain the changes was most unnecessary and pointless,” the statement said.

EFCC Press Release - N17m Scam: EFCC Arraigns Businessman For Dud Cheque

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission today arraigned a Jalingo, Taraba State-based businessman, Yusuf Isa Ahmed before Justice Filibus B. Andetur of the Taraba State High Court sitting in Jalingo on a 3 - count charge that borders on issuance of dud cheques contrary to Section 1(1)(a)(i) of Dishonoured Cheque (Offences ) CAP D11(Laws of the Federation) Act 2007.

The accused was arrested following a petition by Osychris Industries Nigeria Limited alleging that Ahmed who is the sole proprietor of Yuij Consult in Jalingo failed to fulfill his obligations in a contract to sell 230 units of Frajend motorcycles valued at N27million (twenty seven million naira).

According to the petitioner, Yusuf was entrusted with 230 units of Frajend motorcycles worth N27, 000,000 (Twenty seven million naira) to sell and remit the proceeds to Osychris Nigeria Limited on a monthly basis over a 17 months period.

Yusuf allegedly remitted only N10, 357,000 (ten million three hundred and fifty-seven thousand naira only). Thereafter, he issued several cheques which were dishonoured by the bank for lack of sufficient funds in the account.

The accused pleaded not guilty to the charge and was granted bail in the sum of N1.5m. His surety is also to show evidence of ownership of a landed property within the jurisdiction.

The case was adjourned till February 20, 2014 for commencement of trial.

Transfer news: Norwich sign Joseph Yobo on loan from Fenerbahce

Norwich have confirmed the loan signing of former Everton defender Joseph Yobo from Turkish giants Fenerbahce.

The 33-year-old Nigeria international joins the Canaries for the remainder of the Premier League season following an injury to centre-back Michael Turner.

Norwich revealed via Twitter: "NCFC can confirm the loan signing of Joseph Yobo from Fenerbahce until the end of the season, subject to governing body approval."

Canaries manager Chris Hughton added: "As most know we've got a problem with Michael Turner, who's got a hamstring pull which will continue to keep him out for a fair amount of time, so it's an area we needed to fill.

"Of course what Joseph is about is that he's someone who knows this division very well, and has great experience."

Fenerbahce confirmed: "Our player, Joseph Yobo, as a result of an agreement between the two clubs, will spend the rest of the season in the Premier League with Norwich City.

"Yobo has shown in his time at Fenerbahce his experience, professionalism, and an exemplary attitude. We wish him success with his new club for the rest of the season."

The defender began his career at Standard Liege and switched to France with Marseille before Everton paid £4m for his services in 2003 in the wake of a successful loan switch.

Stoke v Man Utd

There's still a lot to be done at Man United. They have Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney and Juan Mata in the team now, but the defence hasn't changed and neither has their midfield! I don't think Stoke will go down, but they are only a few points above the drop and are getting sucked into it. Their record at home suggests the Britannia is still a hard place to go - they've only lost there twice in the league this season - and they can't afford to lose this game. I don't like going against Stoke at home and will go for a draw.

Paul Merson's Premier League predictions - Week 24

Surely Chelsea won't go to the Etihad and defend. For a start Man City have got no Sergio Aguero and they're a completely different beast without him. The two up front - Edin Dzeko and Alvaro Negredo - will really suit John Terry and Gary Cahill. They will play up against them, rather than dropping off into the hole like Aguero does.

uan Mata: Chelsea missed the Man United new boy against West Ham

Chelsea could have done with Juan Mata during their goalless draw with West Ham at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea had 39 attempts on goal but could not break down a stubborn Hammers rearguard.

Jose Mourinho was scathing of the Irons' "19th century football" - but Houghton reckons the absence of Mata, who left West London for Manchester United in a £37million deal at the weekend, was one of the reasons the hosts toiled.

"Chelsea were lacking something despite having their big names out there - and perhaps they needed a Mata," the former Aston Villa and Republic of Ireland midfielder told Match Choice.

BREAKING: Amaechi Storms SSS Office With El-Rufai in Abuja.

The atmosphere at the SSS headquarters in Abuja, we gathered, is tensed and all the parties in the showdown are sticking to their guns. Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State and Senator Chris Ngige are among the APC leaders who, in company of ex-Minister of the FCT, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, appeared at the SSS office on Monday morning. Governor Amaechi and others are being prevented from entering the office but they are resisting. A source told us a team of detectives have been assemble to question El-Rufai and that he is in good spirit, ready to answer their questions and his lawyer is said to be waiting to secure his release. Amaechi was said to have told the SSS that they should not allow themselves to be used by the Presidency as the State Security Service is programmed by the law to always be neutral, no matter the situation. The SSS can even arrest President Goodluck Jonathan on the orders of the Attorney-General of the Federation, but the way they are going now, it seems they only see wrongs in what the opposition says.

MUST READ: Stephanie Okereke-Linus Has Got A Message For The Ladies.

Nollywood actress Stephanie Okereke Linus is a happily married woman and she shares some top tips for ladies out there with an article. She advises women not to be too vulnerable and desperate for partners. Stephanie encouraged that they should not forget to build themselves and fulfill their dreams and career goals. She posted this image with the article…….

Hi Ladies, The words in the picture above mean a lot and I think it’s something we should all take seriously. Many times as women, we tend to feel incomplete without a man by our side and would go to great lengths to ensure we don’t remain “single”. I know that feeling. But it’s also important we do not express our vulnerability or sound too desperate that we forget to build ourselves up as individuals. Sometimes, we give up our lives, our careers, our dreams for the desires of a man and leave our own self worth and fulfillment aside. I am not trying to undermine the importance of men in our lives. Our husbands, our partners, our relationships are very important and sacrifices can, and should be made sometimes. However, I’d just like to remind us today not to forget who we really are. I know its hard, especially for women who have reached a certain age, not to feel incomplete without a man in their lives. But please, do not lose track of your dreams. When you build yourself and are proud of the person you are, you will naturally attract good men who would be inspired by your success and treat you with love and respect. I do hope this inspires someone today. Have a great day!

Juan Mata Writes an Open Letter to Chelsea Fans.

Hi everyone, As you can imagine this is a very important day in my life, and with these lines I would like to express the memories and emotions that come to me as I write. This letter is written from my heart, and first of all I would like to say that I will never forget all the affection given to me by the Chelsea fans. From the very first day until the last. With your support and affection I have grown up as a player and I have had an amazing time both on and off the pitch. I will always feel the gratitude towards you. Always. No words are enough to give back all the things I have received. There has been plenty of good moments: the FA Cup, my first trophy as a Blue; the immense happiness of winning titles for the first time in the club’s history, such as that magical Champions League night in Munich and the Europa League.

Magazine On the other hand, I have experienced some complicated situations from a personal point of view, mainly during the last six months. Every message I got through the social media, every nice word you have said to me on the street, and of course, your support in the stadium, has made me feel incredibly proud of the Chelsea fans; you deserve a team like the one you’ve got, with so many fantastic players. I won’t forget the faith you put in me when I was given the player of the year award the last two seasons. I feel really proud and I will never forget those nights. Thank you so much for the way you have treated me, you have been unbelievable. I hope you understand that after going through a complicated and, for me, new situation in the last few months, I believe this is the best choice in order to carry on with my football career and to keep enjoying this sport. Before last summer, my intention was to stay here for a long time; as long as the club wanted me to, and to keep winning trophies for Chelsea FC. This is how happy I was in the club and in the city. However, as you all know, things changed after the preseason. From feeling like an important player, I started to experience some difficult situations and I felt unable to help the team to the extent that I wanted and was used to. Obviously, I fully respect the circumstances. Football is a team sport and it’s not easy to play regularly in such a good squad. In sports you may win or lose, but the most important thing is to give everything. I hope you know and feel that I have always done so. In every game, in every training session, without exception. I have always tried my best for the club. I would like to emphasise the affection, admiration and respect that I’ve had for my former team mates since the first day. I want to thank the captains for their help and understanding at all times. They made me feel comfortable when I arrived and they have supported me throughout the difficult times this season. I thank all my former team mates for these two and a half years and I wish them the best, personally and professionally, for the future. Of course I have been closer to some of them, but the most important thing is that my years in Chelsea have left me with great friends. Friends forever, football rivalries aside. I also want to highlight the day-to-day job of every member of the Chelsea staff: medical team, kit men, staff at Cobham and Stamford Bridge, media and marketing department, Chelsea TV team… All of them are very important in making this club a great one. Thank you for your treatment and your efforts to make the life of the players easier. Furthermore, thanks to every manager I have had the pleasure to work with during my time here. They have all been a big help for my progression as a player. I have always respected their decisions, whatever they were; they made me more mature and a stronger person. You learn from everything, and certain situations make you think about other team mates who are coping with similar situations more regularly. Thank you Andre for giving me the opportunity to join Chelsea FC. Without your support, none of this would have happened. To Robbie and Rafa, for their unlimited trust in me. And to Jose, for making me a stronger player, because in difficult moments, I have learnt to remain positive and to keep working hard. Lastly, I want to thank the Club, and in particular its owner, Roman Abramovich, for trusting me and making an important investment when signing me. Also for their understanding regarding my situation over the last months. I’m very glad to have been part of the squad that made his and our dream come true: winning the Champions League on that unforgettable night in Munich. Additionally, my years in Chelsea have been profitable for the club, which I’m very pleased about. I want to make clear that the stage that now comes to an end has been extremely important for me, personally and professionally. Although many of you, like myself, never thought this moment would come, this is football and a new chapter is about to begin. I would have liked to say good bye to all of you in the stadium, or in a press conference, but it has not been possible. I’m sure I will be able to do it in the future, because that is what you deserve. Evidently, today is a day of mixed feelings, remembering the past and looking forward to the future and what it has to bring. I look forward to being happy and to enjoy what I like the most: play football. I will never forget my time in Chelsea and the affection I take with me, I will keep forever. I wish you the best. A big hug to all of you. THANK YOU so much, Juan

Look At Your Self??????

by Andrea Okoye

The secret to creating a trademark
look is knowing who you are
and how you want to present
 yourself to the world.

Have you ever wonder why people talk about you when you‘re not there? I bumped into Klint de Drunk last time, you know, he looks like a clown, always looking drunk. I met this amazing woman, an artist petite good hairdo, vintage dress on black loss. And a great sense of humour.
My friends had a cousin sister who visited for holiday - a gorgeous, beauty always with long human hair all covering her back. It’s always a surprise to discover how others perceive you, unwitting they cast your mindless I idiosyncrasies as your trademark look infer your “true identify” from those style cues. And because our culture is so media obsessed, many people use brands and celebrities as a way to label others. You happen to like Afro- wigs?  Soon you are a Rita Dominic look alike. you wear long-Dangling style accessories like Stella Damascus? People assume you’re her wanna be.
Collect wedged shoes? Bimbo Akintola is your rival.
Impromptu descriptions by friends or acquaintances are usually meant to be complimentary yet often they sting more than flatter. A couple of years ago ,for instance, I was peeved to find out that I had a reputation  for being “he only woman who could pull off  wearing beret and a  sneakers at the same time“ in thither words I was  a sorry mixed metaphor.
In having a trademark of you own, sometimes you don’t care about what people say about you as long as it’s not true. Either way, some people, possibly celebrities don’t find  being socially totem ized for their fashion lapses, as long as no one ever mentioned, ... their love handless, let ‘s be honest; more often then not we choose a particular look or signature styles to distract observers from what we perceive to be our must embarrassing flaws.
Yet imperfection is the mother of invention. High heels were engineered to add inches to the small structure of the French monarch Louis XIV. Perfume - making flourished in the 17th Century before soap was introduced. Lycra came into existence when women demanded clothes as flexible as their measurements. And today, trendsetters are fashion outcasts who dress up in duds to assert themselves against the establishment, find the rub and you’ve got the making of the next fad.
But creating a personal trademark that turns a negative into a positive is no easy task. For years, as I tried to define who I was, I did my best to conceal my size rather than embrace it. I favour jeans to blur the contours of my body, loving hair to cheat on my proportions, and sleek, modern accessories to offset my curves.  My choice of wear had more to do with fudging than fitting. I also had a tendency to pile on accessories- The beret and sneakers syndrome.
Live and learn -“you cannot turn a negative into a positive” unless you want to manufacture a powerful trademark for yourself, it has to be based on something unique, different-even controversial otherwise it won’t work. Remember Derenle (sound city TV) he is so so controversial

Old fashion brands can become classic again, dowdy products can be repositioned as upbeat again, check out the Day Maxi gown, Mo-hawk haircut and so on.

SAME SEX – A Blessing or a curse? THE ORDER OF THE DAY IN DURUMI 111, A GAY GROUP FOUND ! Oh my God!

Gemininaija

You are a  “good guy” not one of those men who would assault a fellow man. You would never commit a sacrilege with your or hit your brother, who tells you  that you took the wrong way- you are not part of the problem. So how can you become part of the solution? You are exactly the kind of man who can help fight homosexuality. Something might be going on in your mind now, that is, why is she discussing such a sensitive issue, after all some part of USA legalized same sex marriage, HELL NO! This is Nigeria, the act is just uncultured and can not be legalized in this part of the world where culture and decedent is held at high esteem..
